South Lake Union to host City Council Candidate Forum, Wed. Sept. 30
/SOUTH LAKE UNION – Six candidates vying for Seattle City Council seats in the November election will square-off on topics that will help shape Seattle’s fastest growing community Wednesday, Sept. 30 in the South Lake Union City Council Candidate Forum. Moderated by Q13 FOX News Political Analyst C.R. Douglas, the forum includes incumbent Sally Bagshaw and challenger Deborah Zech-Artis in South Lake Union’s District 7 along with incumbent Tim Burgess and challenger Jon Grant in the citywide District 8 and two newcomers Bill Bradburd and Lorena González in the citywide District 9.
The free public forum at the special events venue "415 Westlake" in the heart of South Lake Union gets underway at 5:30 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.
“The South Lake Union community is honored to facilitate the public dialogue on issues facing our neighborhood and city in the November election,” said South Lake Union Community Council president Mike McQuaid, whose community priorities include public and private construction accountability, effective mobility and transportation options, public safety, thoughtful new project design and providing for an engaging experience among residents, employees and visitors to the South Lake Union neighborhood.
The candidate forum, co-hosted the South Lake Union Community Council and South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce, is among nine forums and debates throughout the City of Seattle listed by the Seattle City Club that lead up to the November elections.
